"Our Lush Green Campus"

green initiative

Green Initiative

The campus features a unique garden, biodiesel plant, and other environmentally conscious spaces. The photos highlight the beauty and eco-friendly practices.RITEE is dedicated to promoting environmental awareness and education. The campus combines sustainable practices to create an eco-friendly environment. This includes energy-efficient measures, waste reduction, and landscaping to minimize pollution.

Clean & Green Campus

The main objective is to enhance environmental awareness and education, promote sustainable energy and efficient resource usage, and continually improve practices, including waste reduction and energy efficiency.

Facilities

RITEE's commitment to sustainability is evident through its biodiesel plant, biogas plant,
and solar power plant. These facilities showcase the institute's dedication to eco-friendly practices, renewable
energy sources, and environmental responsibility.

sewage treatment plant sewage treatment plant

STP (Sewage Treatment Plant)

We believe in sustainable water management and environmental stewardship. Our sewage treatment plant (STP) employs state-of-the-art technology to treat wastewater, ensuring that the treated water is safe and suitable for various purposes, including gardening.

Process of Sewage Treatment Plant:

Our sewage treatment plant operates through a multi-stage process to effectively treat wastewater and produce high-quality treated water suitable for reuse. The process includes:

  1. Preliminary Treatment: Removal of large debris and grit from the wastewater through screening and grit chambers.
  2. Primary Treatment: Sedimentation to remove settleable solids and organic matter, followed by separation of sludge and scum.
  3. Biological Treatment: Aeration to promote bacterial growth, facilitating the breakdown of organic pollutants through aerobic digestion.
  4. Secondary Treatment: Further removal of organic matter and suspended solids through biological processes like activated sludge or trickling filters.
  5. Tertiary Treatment (Optional): Additional treatment processes such as filtration, disinfection, or advanced oxidation to further improve water quality, depending on specific requirements.

Use of Treated Water for Gardening:

The treated water from our sewage treatment plant is of high quality and suitable for various non-potable uses, including gardening.

e-waste

E-Waste Management

We have implemented effective measures to minimize the generation of electronic waste (e-waste). Through regular maintenance and proper servicing, including periodic checks on computers, printers, laboratory equipment, and other electronic devices, we ensure their optimal functionality and longevity. Our proactive approach means that these items are only disposed of when they are irreparably broken, a rare occurrence due to our diligent maintenance practices. As a result, the overall generation of e-waste on our campus remains low. When e-waste does need to be disposed of, it is done so responsibly and in accordance with regulations. We securely store collected e-waste until sufficient quantities have accumulated, at which point it is handled according to necessary instructions, whether that involves recycling, refurbishment, or proper disposal. This meticulous approach reflects our commitment to sustainable practices and environmental stewardship.

biodiesel plant

Biodiesel Plant

RITEE established a biodiesel plant in 2006, equipped with state-of-the-art R&D facilities. The plant is situated on campus, encompassing one acre and featuring cutting-edge laboratories, storage facilities, and administrative blocks. It is noteworthy that this facility is one of only four agencies authorized and granted approval by the DST (Department of Science and Technology), Government of India, for the development of biodiesel. The primary objective of the plant is to focus on the development of a commercially viable alternative fuel derived from non-edible oil seeds.

biodiesel testing facility

Biodiesel Testing Facility

RITEE holds a distinguished position as one of the select agencies authorized by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India, specifically entrusted with the development of biodiesel. Upholding the highest industry standards, the institute adheres rigorously to ASTM standards, ensuring precision and quality in its biodiesel testing processes. Renowned as a pioneer in central India, RITEE's biodiesel testing facility stands as a beacon of excellence, underscoring the institution's commitment to cutting-edge research and advancements in sustainable energy solutions.

Nisarguna biogas plant

NISAGRUNA Biogas Plant

RITEE boasts a state-of-the-art biogas plant that efficiently transforms food waste into energy, championing a zero-waste approach. The plant's environmentally conscious practices extend to utilizing its byproducts, such as biogas, as valuable resources. Notably, the generated biogas serves dual purposes, being utilized both as biofertilizer and liquid biogertilizer, exemplifying RITEE's commitment to sustainable and eco-friendly solutions in waste management.

solar power plant

Solar Power Plant:

The campus at RITEE is equipped with a cutting-edge 256 KVA photovoltaic solar power plant, a pivotal initiative in ensuring sustainable and renewable energy sources to meet the institute's power demands. This forward-thinking project received essential subsidies from the Ministry of Renewable Energy, highlighting the government's support for environmentally conscious initiatives. RITEE's commitment to harnessing solar energy not only fulfills its energy needs but also underscores the institution's dedication to reducing its carbon footprint and promoting cleaner, greener practices in higher education.
