Pharmacy is a integral part of medical sciences and its existence can be traced back to 2000 B.C..Greek physician Galen (131-200 A.D.) is considered as the Father of Pharmacy who intially standardized the raw materials necessary for the preparation of drug and their formulations. India also has contributed immensely in the development of pharmacy; the earliest known compilations were the Charak Samhita and Sushruta Samhita in 6th century.
The face of pharmacy may have evolved over the past 1000 years; however, its traditional role remains the same. Preparation and preservation of medicines and drug products have advanced from pharmacy to multibillion pharmaceutical industry.
Pharmacy is imperative and integral part of modern Medical sciences. Pharmacy is a health profession based on the chemical, biological and medical sciences. It is a science concerned with the formulation, testing, production and use of medicines and the disbursing of medicine related information to the concern. Present Pharmacist perform a wide range of responsibilities which vary among the different areas of pharmacy practice however the foremostwork of the pharmacy is to ensure the safe, effective and rational use of medicines. It is a profession that focuses on improving the quality of people's lives by providing them with the best available treatment.

ELIGIBILTY CRITERIA: (For B. Pharm and D. Pharm Course)
- 12th pass with Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Mathematics as compulsory subject.
- Minimum 45% for General category in PCB/PCM , (and English as compulsory subjectfor B.Pharm only ) maximum age limit is 30 yrs.
- Minimum 40% for OBC/SC/ST (Only applicable for CG state domicile) in PCB/PCM & maximum age limit is 33 yrs (Also applicable for physical handicapped & female candidates)
- The Chhattisgarh state Pre–Pharmacy entrance test (PPHT) to be qualified for the admission. All admissions are performed under the counseling organized by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) Govt. of Chhattisgarh, Raipur (C.G.).

Scope: Today the discipline of Pharmacy made enormous progress and had matured as a distinctly independent branch as a Pharmaceutical Sciences mainly through the acquisition of the wealth of knowledge, research and vast array of drug and therapeutic remedies.
The scope of Pharmacy not ends with the above statements, its more than we expect, the good and innovative thing with pharmacy is what that we can feel proud to be a pharmacist as we can serve the family, society, nation and even the world.
